How to access scholarship resources on this blog :-)

Finding Scholarships
A guide tip: use the Search Box on the left side of this blog, called Freefind Site Search.

(You can see it right under the "Google Translate" section, on the left.)

For instance, if you search using "Music Scholarships" you will find this posting:
Music Scholarship Links
http://findscholarshipsandgrants.blogspot.com/2011/04/music-scholarship-links.html

There was another posting listed above that about not getting ripped off when applying for scholarships too, which might have had something about art scholarships in it, but the above link looked better.

So, just click on the link that has more to do with your search.

There are also links to OTHER scholarship finding sites out there that I like. These are free, and also good.

Here is a link to a couple more articles:

and

Don't get ripped off searching for scholarships

Good luck finding a scholarship! Add a comment on what YOUR favorite Scholarship Search sites are, or where YOU found a scholarship. I know my readers would LOVE to know about that.

Have you checked with your school to find Scholarships in your area? More.

If you are already a student and taking classes, you can usually automatically apply for scholarships while re-registering for classes.

If you want to research more, try the popular FastWeb site and others listed on the Nontrad site here:

and
Scholarships Links and Tips Page Two

Get with your Advisor - - they may know of other avenues too.

NEVER pay to find scholarships. There are MANY ways to find them for free.

Are you in any clubs? They may also have scholarships.

Grants are also available from many sources.

One place that is fun to look through is the Dr. Torres site. They have many great links.

Here is that link: https://www.fatomei.com/. They have undergraduate AND graduate links.

AND use the Search box to find more good links here on this blog.

Good luck!

Another great site to find out about scholarships - About.com

I have signed up for a few different About.com newsletters. You can sign up for these at many of the pages.

Money for school: we like it!

About.com does not make you click incessantly to go to a new photo or anything; their links are on their articles.

Yes, they do have ads on their pages, but I don't mind it. AND each page has other links on it that may be of great interest to my readers.

Here are a few of their pages and articles you might like:

More about the Planning and Preparing for College site

Minority students and others can find great opportunities at the Planning and Preparing for College blog.
By Vadim Plessky [see page for license], via Wikimedia Commons

C. Herd and The Artivist join together to list many links, scholarship sites, internships and more on this blog site for both undergraduates and graduate students on her blog. In addition, it is continually updated and well worth checking out.

Here is that link:
The Planning and Preparing for College blog.

I think you will REALLY like this blog.

These two researchers and bloggers do a super-terrific job of finding opportunities others wish they could.

An article about finding scholarships and loans from Kate Freeman on Mashable

Here is another great article.

It explains why the best sites update every day, and why they all can't. Some sites are licensed via others, and just have the very same information.

Read more:

Thanks, Kate Freeman, for a really good article.

Readers, I hope you like it too.

Look up scholarships by state at the Nontrad State and Country Pages

View U.S. Scholarships by page
This original (uncropped) photo is by NazarethCollege on Flickr.

On my Nontraditional Student website, you can search scholarships by state and (eventually!) by country too.

Here is the Map Page. You can select your state and see what scholarships are listed there so far. You can also add your scholarships to each page OR your nontraditional student group too.

If you do not see a scholarship listed yet for your state, check these sites out:

Do you have favorite scholarship sites for the U.S. or other countries? List them below as a comment.

I will send people over to the Map Page later on from this blog so I can continue adding more scholarships to this website.

Go to the Nontraditional Student website to see more scholarships from all over. Search the blog to find a lot of different postings too. I will be migrating this site over to the Scholarship Pages (above) soon.
